Owners of senior, medicated, anxious, reactive and exotic pets often need details that broad directories bury. We make those details the starting point and show the source used for each claim.
About the project
Built for the question after “who is nearby?”
Pet Care Near You is an independent directory project focused on whether a provider’s published capabilities fit the pet—not on recreating a generic map or marketplace.
Chicago first
The pilot deliberately covers one metro and a small number of profiles. This allows manual review, provider corrections and owner feedback before geographic expansion. We will not manufacture empty city pages to appear nationwide.
Independence and revenue
The core matcher is free and requires no account. The intended business model is optional enhanced provider profiles and clearly labeled sponsorship outside personalized ordering. Commercial relationships will not change care-fit scores.
Who is responsible
Pet Care Near You was created and is maintained by Aaron Bergquist, who is responsible for provider research, product logic, software implementation, accessibility and corrections.
Aaron is the product owner and software author, not a veterinarian, animal behaviorist or credentialing professional. Provider claims come from the linked provider-controlled sources; no veterinary professional has reviewed or endorsed this launch version.
